Refund & Returns Policy

At Indlu Interiors, we specialize in custom-designed and made-to-order furniture, fitted kitchens, built-in cupboards, wardrobes, and interior solutions tailored to each client’s unique requirements. Due to the bespoke nature of many of our products and services, our refund and return policies differ from those applicable to standard retail goods.
Custom-Made and Bespoke Products
Most products manufactured or supplied by Indlu Interiors are custom-made according to the specifications, measurements, finishes, materials, and designs approved by the client.
As a result, custom-made, personalized, or specially manufactured items cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded once production has commenced, except where:
- The product is defective;
- The product does not match the agreed specifications;
- The product has been damaged during manufacturing, delivery, or installation due to our actions;
- The product fails to meet acceptable quality standards as required by applicable South African consumer legislation.
Order Changes and Cancellations
Clients may request changes to an order before manufacturing begins. Any approved changes may result in revised pricing, production timelines, or additional charges.
Once manufacturing, procurement of materials, or production has commenced, cancellations may not be possible. Where cancellation is approved, Indlu Interiors reserves the right to deduct costs already incurred, including but not limited to:
- Design work;
- Materials purchased;
- Manufacturing costs;
- Labour costs;
- Administrative expenses.
Standard Retail Products
Where Indlu Interiors supplies non-customized retail products, returns may be accepted within 7 days of delivery, provided that:
- The product is unused and undamaged;
- The product is returned in its original packaging;
- Proof of purchase is provided;
- The product is not a special-order item.
Return requests must be submitted in writing before any product is returned.
Defective or Damaged Products
If a product arrives damaged or a manufacturing defect is identified, the client must notify Indlu Interiors within 7 days of delivery or installation.
To assist with the assessment, clients may be required to provide:
- Photographs of the defect or damage;
- A copy of the invoice or proof of purchase;
- A written description of the issue.
Upon inspection and verification, Indlu Interiors may, at its discretion:
- Repair the product;
- Replace the product;
- Provide a full or partial refund where appropriate.
Refunds
Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method whenever possible.
Refund processing times may vary depending on the client’s financial institution and payment provider.
Refunds will not be granted for:
- Change of mind;
- Incorrect measurements supplied by the client;
- Design choices approved by the client;
- Normal wear and tear;
- Damage resulting from misuse, negligence, improper maintenance, or unauthorized modifications.
Installation Services
Where installation services have been completed in accordance with the approved scope of work, labour and installation charges are generally non-refundable.
Should any workmanship concerns arise, Indlu Interiors will assess the matter and take reasonable corrective action where warranted.
Return Shipping and Collection Costs
Where a return, repair, or replacement is approved due to a defect or error attributable to Indlu Interiors, collection, transport, or replacement costs may be covered by us.
Where a return request is approved for any other reason, the client may be responsible for all associated transport, collection, and handling costs.
Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights afforded to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008, or any other applicable South African legislation.
